WHOLE FOODS ON A BUDGET

Incorporating more 🍅🥬𝗪𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗𝗦🍗🧅 doesn't have to break the BANK! 💸Check out these tips from Coach Jessica/JT for saving money while prioritizing more nutrient dense foods.

🫑Shop at "discount" stores like 🅰🅻🅳🅸 or choose "off" brands (they are usually made by the "on" brands anyways!) + shopping sales can save big bucks! My go to is Aldi then I hit up Costco, Cermak or Marianos for the items I can't get at Aldi.

📝ᴍᴀᴋᴇ ᴀ ʟɪꜱᴛ, plan what you'd like to have for meals + snacks + stick to the list to reduce food waste + overall expense.

⏱𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 so you can prepare a couple foods each week vs purchasing ALL prepared foods which tend to be much more expensive. Start with 1 meal a week!

🥫🥫🥫 S̲h̲o̲p̲ ̲i̲n̲ ̲B̲U̲L̲K̲- Seriously even when I was one person, Costco still made sense for a lot of things. Many items can be frozen for use later like marinating a fam pack of chicken or tofu in separate freezer bags.

👀 ꜱᴛɪᴄᴋ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴇʀɪᴍᴇᴛᴇʀ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴛᴏʀᴇ + ᴀᴠᴏɪᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀɪꜱʟᴇꜱ. If you do need to grab things in the aisles 🄻🄾🄾🄺 🅄🄿 + 🄳🄾🅆🄽 since companies pay stores to put their stuff at eye level.

🛒ɢʀօƈɛʀʏ ɖɛʟɨʋɛʀʏ - A lot of services now offer 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆. And consider your time. How much is your time worth to just have your groceries show up on your doorstep?

🥫𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙲𝙺 𝚈𝙾𝚄𝚁 𝙿𝙰𝙽𝚃𝚁𝚈 + shop that first. Keeping your pantry + freezer well stocked means lots of meal options in a pinch.

🧑🏼‍🌾Hit up your local 𝙁𝘼𝙍𝙈𝙀𝙍'𝙎 𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙆𝙀𝙏/𝙀𝘼𝙏 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 - even during the winter months many are still going strong depending on where you live. Join a local CSA (community supported agriculture) by visiting localharvest.org!

🥔ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏꜱᴛ ᴄᴏꜱᴛ ᴇꜰꜰᴇᴄᴛɪᴠᴇ ꜰᴏᴏᴅꜱ are things like dried beans + grains, canned fish, frozen veggies + fruits, plant based proteins (tofu, tempeh, beans/lentils) or less popular cuts of meat like bone-in and organ meats.

🥕𝔾𝕣𝕠𝕨 𝕒 𝕘𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕖𝕟 - don't have a lot of space? Lots of veggies + herbs can be grown in pots + even indoors!

🍿Watch that COST PER UNIT price. If your protein powder is breaking the bank, are you willing to spend a little extra time preparing whole food based protein instead?

💻Learn new ways to ᴘʀᴇꜱᴇʀᴠᴇ ꜰᴏᴏᴅꜱ like freezing different things or even how to pickle, ferment, smoke, cure things! Fun kitchen projects! Learn which foods will last longer + which are more perishable + use those things up first each week.

𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞 𝗢𝗡 𝗔 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗨𝗨𝗠 - You don't have to prepare all your meals at home all the time, just add in even 1 home cooked meal each week, you'll be starting to save some bucks!
